Heather was born and raised in New Orleans where entertaining is a way of life, celebrations are treasured and every day is a reason for a party. She possesses a unique artistic expression which touches every facet of her life and work.
Heather graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in mathematics and spent twenty-five years as an employee and executive benefits consultant helping clients with strategic plan design, analytical problem solving, effective communications strategies, legal compliance measures and efficient program administration. Her clients included numerous Fortune 500 and 100 companies, and her personality was invaluable in the development and maintenance of key client relationships.
She has passionately devoted much time to non-profit organizations including Junior Board Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF), Greater Richmond Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), St. James’s Episcopal Church (SJ) and Comfort Zone Camp (CZC). Leadership positions include Board President, Ball Co-Chair, Tables Co-Chair and Decorations Chair (CHF), SCAN Progressive Dinner host for six years, Auction Co-Chair (SJ), Steering Committee (CZC). She currently serves on the Board of Children's Hospital Foundation.
Heather brings her creative flair and technical expertise to The Crowned Leopard’s clients, helping to provide valuable and memorable experiences.
She has been married for over 35 years and has two grown children.
As a girl of the South, Laura grew up planning parties, entertaining and cooking for family and friends. From casual drop-ins to formal affairs, Laura has always gravitated to the creation of welcoming, memorable events. She led her academic and professional careers with equal passion, graduating cum laude from Duke University and earning her MBA from Georgetown University, where she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. She went on to build business acumen as a consultant with Arthur Andersen. Her clients consistently noted that Laura’s ability to define client needs and effectively design game-changing solutions were keys to her project leadership success.
After the births of her two children, Laura devoted much of her time to their schools’ and other non-profit organizations. Laura has worked with community organizations including The Steward School, St. Catherine’s School (St.C), Junior Board Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF), Greater Richmond Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), and The Richmond Ballet. She has chaired events and lead major initiatives include Daisy Days Co-Chair (St. C), Progressive Dinner Chair (SCAN), Ball Co-Chair (CHF), Auction Party Chair (St. C).
Laura’s business expertise and creative insights combined with her experience and personal contacts in the event planning industry enable her to create and execute successful and seamless events for The Crowned Leopard’s clients.
She has been married for 30 years. In addition to her two children, she is “mom” to a Field Spaniel.
